     Vice-Admiral Kenneth Gilbert Balmain Dewar was born on 21 September 1879.¹ He was the son of James Dewar and Jane Flora Wotherspoon.² He married Gertrude Mary Stapleton-Bretherton, daughter of Frederick Annesley Stapleton-Bretherton and Hon. Isabella Mary Petre, on 28 July 1914.¹ He died on 8 September 1964 at age 84.¹

Britannia, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Midshipman in 1895 in the Royal Navy.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1900.¹ He gained the rank of Commander in 1911.¹ He was Assistant Director of Naval Plans Division, Naval Staff in 1917.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1918.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He was Deputy Directorr of Naval Intelligence Division between 1925 and 1927.¹ He was Officer-in-Charge of the H.M.S. Royal Oak.¹ He was Officer-in-Charge of the H.M.S. Tiger between 1928 and 1929.¹ He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1929.¹ He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V.¹ He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1934.¹ He was awarded the Gold Medal RUSI.¹ He wrote the book The Navy from Within, published 1939 (ASIN: B003AJTP3Q.)¹

     Mary Compton was born on 1 May 1919.¹ She is the daughter of Major Edward Robert Francis Compton and Sylvia Farquharson of Invercauld.² She married, firstly, Bernard Henry Richard van Cutsem, son of Henry Harcourt van Cutsem and Eleanor Mary Josephine Southwell Trafford, on 28 September 1939.¹ She and Bernard Henry Richard van Cutsem were divorced in 1947.¹ She married, secondly, Major William Dalton Henderson, son of Alexander Ogilvy Henderson, on 22 February 1947.¹
     Her married name became van Cutsem. From 22 February 1947, her married name became Henderson.¹

     Hugh Bernard Edward van Cutsem was born on 21 July 1941.¹ He was the son of Bernard Henry Richard van Cutsem and Mary Compton.² He married Jonkvrouwe Emilie Elise Christine van Ufford, daughter of Jonkheer Pieter Quarles van Ufford, on 10 June 1971 at Guard’s Chapel, Wellington Barracks, London, England^G.³ He died on 2 September 2013 at age 72.⁴
     He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Life Guards.¹ He lived at Hilborough, Norfolk, England^G.⁵ He was awarded the Knight, Sovereign Military Order of Malta in 1993.¹ He lived in 2003 at Anmer Hall, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, England^G.¹

     Geoffrey Neil van Cutsem was born on 23 November 1944.¹ He was the son of Bernard Henry Richard van Cutsem and Mary Compton.² He married, firstly, Sarah McCorquodale, daughter of Alastair McCorquodale and Rosemary Sybil Turnor, on 30 October 1969.¹ He and Sarah McCorquodale were divorced in 2003.³ He married, secondly, Lucy Hester Cartwright in 2006.⁴ He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Georgina Gail Villiers, daughter of William Nicholas Somers Laurence Hyde Villiers and Mary Cecilia Georgina Weld-Forester, in 2012. He died on 30 December 2022 at age 78.⁴
     He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Horse Guards.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (F.R.I.C.S.) in 1973.¹ He was executive director of Savills in 1987.¹ He lived in 2003 at The Old Rectory, Old Somerby, Grantham, Lincolnshire, England^G.¹

     Sarah McCorquodale was born in 1948.¹ She was the daughter of Alastair McCorquodale and Rosemary Sybil Turnor.¹ She married Geoffrey Neil van Cutsem, son of Bernard Henry Richard van Cutsem and Mary Compton, on 30 October 1969.² She and Geoffrey Neil van Cutsem were divorced in 2003.³ She died on 1 August 2008.³
     From 30 October 1969, her married name became van Cutsem.¹

     Sophie van Cutsem was born on 5 August 1975.² She is the daughter of Geoffrey Neil van Cutsem and Sarah McCorquodale.³
