     Arthur Annesley, 1st Earl of Anglesey was born on 10 July 1614 at Fishamble Street, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.³ He was the son of Francis Annesley, 1st Viscount of Valentia and Dorothy Philipps.³ He was baptised on 29 July 1614.³ He married Elizabeth Altham, daughter of Sir James Altham and Elizabeth Sutton, on 24 April 1638 at Acton, London, England^G.⁴ He died on 6 April 1686 at age 71 at Drury Lane, London, England^G, from quinsy.⁴ He was buried at Farmborough, Hampshire, England^G.⁴ His will was proven (by probate) on 18 June 1686.⁴ His will was proven (by probate) on 3 July 1699.⁴
     He was educated in 1630 at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.³ He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1634.³ He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1634 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)³ He was one of the Commissioners to manage the Irish affairs under the Parliament, but after the murder of the King, took part with the Royalists in 1647.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Radnor between 1647 and 1653.³ In 1658 he was empowered to treat with the King’s rebellious subjects.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dublin [English Parliament] from 1659 to 1660.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carmarthen in 1660.³ He held the office of President of the Council of State in 1660.³ He held the office of Vice-Treasurer [Ireland] between 1660 and 1667.³ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 31 May 1660.⁵ He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount of Valentia, co. Kerry [I., 1622] on 22 November 1660.⁶ He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Mountnorris, of Mountnorris, co. Armagh [I., 1629] on 22 November 1660.³ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Annesley, of Mountnorris, co. Armagh [I., 1620] on 22 November 1660.⁶ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in December 1660.⁵ He was created 1st Earl of Anglesey, in Wales [England] on 20 April 1661.³ He was created 1st Baron Annesley, of Newport Pagnel, Buckinghamshire [England] on 20 April 1661.³ On 8 March 1665 he received a pension of £600 per year.⁴ He held the office of Treasurer of the Navy from 1667 to 1668.³ On 21 May 1669 he was soundly cudgelled by a Major Scott, with whom he declined a duel.⁴ He held the office of Lord Privy Seal between 22 April 1673 and 9 August 1682.⁴ He lived after 1682 at Bletchington, Oxfordshire, England^G.⁴ His last will was dated 23 February 1685/86.
     Samuel Pepys recorded that ‘Sir H. Cholmeley is confident my Lord A. is one of the greatest knaves in the world.’ W. Harbord wrote ‘Arlington had a cruel dispute with Anglesey yesterday, and told him that he is a knave, which is too true.⁴‘ The Duke of Ormonde wrote of him as ‘a man I have seen detected in public of misinformation and mean artifices, for sordid sums, and yet never blush at the matter.’ Bishop Burnett describes him as ‘a man of grave deportment.⁴‘ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁷
     

     Elizabeth Altham was born on 9 January 1620.² She was the daughter of Sir James Altham and Elizabeth Sutton.^1,2 She married Arthur Annesley, 1st Earl of Anglesey, son of Francis Annesley, 1st Viscount of Valentia and Dorothy Philipps, on 24 April 1638 at Acton, London, England^G.² She died circa January 1697/98.² She was buried on 26 January 1697/98 at St. Anne’s, Soho, London, England^G.² Her will was proven (by probate) on 22 March 1697/98.²
     From 24 April 1638, her married name became Annesley.² After her marriage, Elizabeth Altham was styled as Viscountess of Valentia on 22 November 1660. After her marriage, Elizabeth Altham was styled as Countess of Anglesey on 20 April 1661. Her last will was dated 18 May 1686.

     Sir James Altham was born before 1604. He married Elizabeth Sutton, daughter of Sir Richard Sutton, before 1619.³ He died before 1619.³
     He lived at Oxhey, Watford, Hertfordshire, England^G.⁴ He held the office of Baron of the Exchequer.² He lived at Acton, London, England^G.¹

     Alicia Leigh was born circa 1661.¹ She was the daughter of Hon. Charles Leigh and Anne Littleton.¹ She married Altham Annesley, 1st Baron Altham, son of Arthur Annesley, 1st Earl of Anglesey and Elizabeth Altham, on 3 September 1678 at Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England^G.¹ She died on 4 June 1684 at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, England^G, without issue.¹ She was buried at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, England^G.¹
     From 3 September 1678, her married name became Annesley.¹ After her marriage, Alicia Leigh was styled as Baroness Altham on 14 February 1681.

     Hon. Charles Leigh was born in 1625.² He was the son of Thomas Leigh, 1st Baron Leigh of Stoneleigh and Mary Egerton.³ He married, firstly, Anne Littleton, daughter of Sir Edward Littleton and Mary Fisher.³ He married Elizabeth Bradshaw, daughter of Anthony Bradshaw.² He died on 30 July 1704.²

     David Ramsey is the son of Ronald Ramsey.¹ He married Hon. Alice Elizabeth Margaret Ramsay, daughter of Alexander Arthur Alfonso David Maule Ramsay of Mar and Marjorie Flora Fraser, Baroness Saltoun of Abernethy, on 28 July 1990.²

     Juliet Victoria Katharine Nicolson was born on 3 March 1988 at London, England^G.¹ She is the daughter of Mark Malise Nicolson and Hon. Katharine Ingrid Mary Isabel Fraser.¹ She married Simon Alexander Rood, son of Peter O. Rood and Jennifer J. Sims, on 11 July 2015.²
     From 11 July 2015, her married name became Rood.²

     Thomas Leigh, 1st Baron Leigh of Stoneleigh was born in 1595.² He was the son of Sir John Leigh and Ursula Hoddesdon.^3,4 He married Mary Egerton, daughter of Sir Thomas Egerton and Isabella Venables, on 11 November 1610.² He died on 22 February 1671.²
     He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.² He was appointed Knight in 1616.⁵ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Leigh, of Stoneleigh, co. Warwick [E., 1611] on 1 February 1625/26.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Warwick from 1628 to 1629.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Warwickshire.² He held the office of High Sheriff of Warwickshire from 1636 to 1637.² He was created 1st Baron Leigh of Stoneleigh, co. Warwick [England] on 1 July 1643.² He was a royalist during the English Civil War, playing host to King Charles I at Stoneleigh after Coventry had denied him entry, hence was fined £4,895.²

     Anne Littleton was the daughter of Sir Edward Littleton and Mary Fisher.^1,2 She married, secondly, Hon. Charles Leigh, son of Thomas Leigh, 1st Baron Leigh of Stoneleigh and Mary Egerton.³ She married, firstly, Sir Thomas Holte, 1st Bt., son of Edward Holte and Dorothy Ferrers.³ She died on 2 November 1697.⁴
     Her married name became Holte.³ Her married name became Leigh.¹

     Sir Edward Littleton was the son of Sir Edward Littleton and Margaret Devereux.² He married Mary Fisher, daughter of Sir Clement Fisher and Mary Repington, on 16 January 1598.³ He died on 25 August 1630.³
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Staffordshire in 1624.³ He held the office of Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1627.³ He lived at Pillaton Hall, Staffordshire, England^G.³
