Richard Power, 1st Earl of Tyrone1 
He held the office of Governor of Waterford City and County Waterford in 1661.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Waterford [Ireland] between 1661 and 1666.1 He gained the rank of Captain in February 1660/61 in the Regiment of Foot.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baron le Power and Coroghmore, co. Waterford [I., 1535] in 1661/62.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] between 1667 and 1679.1 He held the office of Colonel of Foot in 1670.1 He was created 1st Earl of Tyrone [Ireland] on 9 October 1672.1 He was created 1st Viscount Decies [Ireland] on 9 October 1672.2 In 1679 he was charged with treason.2 His marriage to Katherine FitzGerald was annulled.2 In 1681 gained his discharge.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1686.2 In 1690 he took part in the defence of Cork and was afterwards taken prisoner to London.2
