     Jane Maria Grant was born in 1840.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Peter Grant, 11th of Rothiemurchus and Henrietta Isabella Phillipa Chichele Plowden.¹ She married Sir Richard Strachey, son of Edward Strachey and Julia Woobine Kirkpatrick, on 4 January 1859 at Calcutta, India.¹ She died on 14 December 1928.³
     From 4 January 1859, her married name became Strachey.¹

     Sir John Peter Grant, 11th of Rothiemurchus was born on 23 November 1807.^1,2 He was the son of Sir John Peter Grant, 9th of Rothiemurchas and Jane Ironside.² He married Henrietta Isabella Phillipa Chichele Plowden on 16 February 1835 at Calcutta Cathedral, Calcutta, India.¹ He died on 6 January 1893 at age 85.^1,2
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)³ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.)³ He held the office of Member of the Supreme Council [Calcutta].⁴

     Marion Rowe married John Peter Grant, 12th of Rothiemurchus, son of Sir John Peter Grant, 11th of Rothiemurchus and Henrietta Isabella Phillipa Chichele Plowden, in 1859.¹

     Elinor Strachey was born in 1860.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Richard Strachey and Jane Maria Grant.¹ She married James Meadows Rendel, son of Alexander Meadows Rendel and Eliza Hobson, on 16 December 1882.² She died in July 1944.²
     From 16 December 1882, her married name became Rendel.¹

     James Meadows Rendel was the son of Alexander Meadows Rendel and Eliza Hobson.¹ He married Elinor Strachey, daughter of Sir Richard Strachey and Jane Maria Grant, on 16 December 1882.² He died on 27 August 1937.²
