     Roger Victor Machell was born on 23 July 1908.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Percy Wilfred Machell and Lady Victoria Alice Leopoldine Ada Laura Gleichen.¹ He died on 18 January 1984 at age 75.¹

     Lady Helena Emily Gleichen was born on 1 February 1873 at London, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Viktor Prinz zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Lady Laura Wilhelmina Seymour.¹ She died on 28 January 1947 at age 73 at Ashmead House, Cam, Gloucestershire, England^G, unmarried.¹
     She gained the title of Gräfin von Gleichen.¹ She was a painter.² She was awarded the Bronze Medal for Valour of Italy.² On 12 September 1917 she relinquished her German titles, and was granted the rank of a marquess’s daughter.² She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)² She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1920.² She was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)²

     Hon. Zitz Elaine Austin was born in 1902.¹ She was the daughter of Herbert Austin, 1st and last Baron Austin and Helen Dron.¹ She married C. P. Lambert.¹ She died, leaving issue.¹
     Her married name became Lambert.¹

     Georgiana Ellice was the daughter of General Robert Ellice and Eliza Courtney.^1,2 She married Hugh Horatio Seymour, son of Lt.-Col. Hugh Henry Seymour and Lady Charlotte Georgiana Cholmondeley, on 4 November 1846.¹ She died on 12 October 1907.¹
     Her married name became Seymour.

     Hugh Horatio Seymour was born on 15 September 1821.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hugh Henry Seymour and Lady Charlotte Georgiana Cholmondeley.¹ He married Georgiana Ellice, daughter of General Robert Ellice and Eliza Courtney, on 4 November 1846.¹ He died on 4 December 1892 at age 71.¹

     Hugh Francis Seymour was born on 23 December 1855.² He was the son of Hugh Horatio Seymour and Georgiana Ellice.² He married Rachel Blanche Lascelles, daughter of Rev. Hon. James Walter Lascelles and Emma Clara Miles, on 15 April 1884.¹ He died on 14 June 1930 at age 74.²
     He was a practising barrister.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire.²

     Rachel Blanche Lascelles was born circa 1860. She was the daughter of Rev. Hon. James Walter Lascelles and Emma Clara Miles.¹ She married Hugh Francis Seymour, son of Hugh Horatio Seymour and Georgiana Ellice, on 15 April 1884.¹ She died on 4 November 1946.¹
     Her married name became Seymour.

     Thomas Edward Erskine was born on 24 June 1859.¹ He was the son of Reverend Thomas Erskine and Emmeline Augusta Adeane.¹ He married Amy Gertrude Bruce, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Robert Bruce and Rachel Frances Corbet, on 17 November 1888.¹ He died on 29 October 1916 at age 57.¹
     He was Consul-General to New Orleans.¹

     Sir Horace James Seymour was born on 26 February 1885.¹ He was the son of Hugh Francis Seymour and Rachel Blanche Lascelles.¹ He married Violet Amy Erskine, daughter of Thomas Edward Erskine and Amy Gertrude Bruce, on 9 April 1917.² He died on 8 September 1978 at age 93.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He was with the Foreign Office in 1908.¹ He was 2nd Secretary to the U.S.A. in 1919.¹ He was 1st Secretary to the Netherlands in 1923.¹ He was 1st Secretary to Italy in 1925.¹ He was Principal Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary between 1932 and 1936.¹ He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1936.² He held the office of Envoy Extraoridnary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Persia between 1936 and 1939.¹ He held the office of Assistant Under-Secretary of the Foreign Office between 1939 and 1942.¹ He held the office of Ambassador to China between February 1942 and June 1946.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1946.² He was with the Franco-Siamese Boundary Commission between April 1947 and July 1947 at Washington, D.C., U.S.A.^G.¹ He was chairman of the U.K. Delegation to the Balkans Commission in December 1947 at Salonika, Greece^G.¹

     Violet Amy Erskine was born on 22 March 1894.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Edward Erskine and Amy Gertrude Bruce.¹ She married Sir Horace James Seymour, son of Hugh Francis Seymour and Rachel Blanche Lascelles, on 9 April 1917.¹ She died on 11 August 1996 at age 102.¹
     Her married name became Seymour. She was Secretary of the British Embassy at Washington, D.C., U.S.A.^G.¹
