     Alexander Napier was the son of Robert Napier and Anna Drummond.2 He married, firstly, Marion Houstoun, daughter of Sir Ludovic Houstoun of Houstoun and Margaret Maxwell.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Lennox of Woodhead.1 He died in 1702.1
     He purchased Culcreuch in 1675 from William Napier.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Napier, of Merchistoun [N.S., 1627] on 7 August 1683, de jure.1

     Robert John Milliken Napier of Culcreuch was born in 1765.1 He was the son of William Napier of Culcreuch and Jean Milliken.2 He married Anne Campbell, daughter of Robert Campbell of Downie, in 1786.1 He died in 1808.1
     He was given the name of Robert John Napier at birth.1 His name was legally changed to Robert John Milliken Napier under the terms of his maternal grandfather’s will.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Napier, of Merchistoun [N.S., 1627], de jure.1 He fought in the Siege of Mangalore, East Indies, as commander.1 He gained the rank of senior Colonel in the Army.1
