     Sir Alexander Mackenzie of Coul, 5th Bt. was the son of Sir Colin Mackenzie of Coul, 4th Bt. and Henrietta Houstoun.2 He married Janet Macdonald, daughter of Sir James Macdonald, 13th of Sleat, 6th Bt. and Janet Macleod.1 He died in 1792.1
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Mackenzie, of Coul, co. Ross [N.S., 1673] in 1740.1 In 1742 he had a crown charter of Coul as heir male of his grandfather.1

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Alexander Mackenzie of Coul, 6th Bt. was the son of Sir Alexander Mackenzie of Coul, 5th Bt. and Janet Macdonald.2 He married Katherine Ramsay, daughter of Robert Ramsay of Camno, in 1778.1 He died in 1796.1
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Bengal Army.1 He was Provisional Commander-in-Chief of the Bengal between 1790 and 1792.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Mackenzie, of Coul, co. Ross [N.S., 1673] in 1792.1
