     Hon. Arthur Ralph Douglas Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound was born on 17 December 1846.¹ He was the son of William Hugh Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 3rd Earl of Minto and Emma Eleanor Elizabeth Hislop.¹ He married Madeline Harriet Dagmar Ryan, daughter of Sir Charles Lister Ryan and Jane Georgina Shaw-Lefevre, on 14 February 1888.¹ He died on 12 February 1923 at age 76.¹
     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was a practising barrister.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Roxburghshire between 1880 and 1892.¹ He was editor of the Edinburgh Review between 1895 and 1912.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Durham between 1898 and 1906.¹ He was Finance Secretary, Treasury in 1903.¹

     Madeline Harriet Dagmar Ryan was born in 1863 at Kensington, London, England.² She was the daughter of Sir Charles Lister Ryan and Jane Georgina Shaw-Lefevre.^1,2 She married Hon. Arthur Ralph Douglas Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, son of William Hugh Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 3rd Earl of Minto and Emma Eleanor Elizabeth Hislop, on 14 February 1888.¹ She died on 1 January 1906.¹
     Her married name became Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound.

     Sir Charles Lister Ryan was born in 1831 at Worcestershire, England.³ He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Edward Ryan and Louisa Whitmore.³ He married Jane Georgina Shaw-Lefevre, daughter of Sir John George Shaw-Lefevre and Rachel Emily Wright, in 1862 at St. Martin, London, England.³ He died in 1920.³
     He was Comptroller and Auditor.³ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹

     Hugh Frederick Hislop Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound was born on 23 February 1848.¹ He was the son of William Hugh Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 3rd Earl of Minto and Emma Eleanor Elizabeth Hislop.¹ He married Mary Euphemia Long, daughter of Colonel Samuel Long and Emily Herbert, on 15 July 1879.¹ He died on 30 April 1932 at age 84.¹
     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Ayrshire between 1885 and 1892.¹

     Mary Euphemia Long was born on 8 May 1856.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel Samuel Long and Emily Herbert. She was baptised on 11 June 1856 at St. Mary, Lewisham, Kent, England^G.¹ She married Hugh Frederick Hislop Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, son of William Hugh Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 3rd Earl of Minto and Emma Eleanor Elizabeth Hislop, on 15 July 1879.² She died on 4 October 1934 at age 78 at Pancras, London, England^G.¹
     Her married name became Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound.

     Colonel Samuel Long was born on 18 May 1799 at Berkeley Square, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Samuel Long and Lady Jane Maitland.¹ He married, firstly, Lady Louisa Emily Stanley, daughter of Edward Smith-Stanley, 13th Earl of Derby and Charlotte Margaret Hornby, on 18 April 1825.¹ He married, secondly, Sydney Charlotte Anne Atherley, daughter of Arthur Atherley and Lady Louise Kerr, on 19 November 1827 at Arundel, Sussex, England^G.¹ He married, thirdly, Emily Herbert, daughter of Charles John Herbert and Louisa Middleton, on 28 February 1854 at Macroon, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹ He married, fourthly, Eleanor Julian Stanley, daughter of Edward Stanley and Lady Mary Maitland, on 11 December 1866 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.^2,1 He died on 31 August 1881 at age 82 at Lewisham, Kent, England^G.^2,3
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)² He lived at Bromley Hill, Kent, England^G.²

     Lt.-Col. William Fitzwilliam Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound was born on 14 September 1849.¹ He was the son of William Hugh Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 3rd Earl of Minto and Emma Eleanor Elizabeth Hislop.¹ He married Elizabeth Fanny Rutherford, daughter of John Rutherford, in 1880.¹ He died on 16 November 1928 at age 79.¹
     He fought in the Zulu War in 1879, and was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Princess Louise’s Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.¹

     Elizabeth Fanny Rutherford was the daughter of John Rutherford.¹ She married Lt.-Col. William Fitzwilliam Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, son of William Hugh Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 3rd Earl of Minto and Emma Eleanor Elizabeth Hislop, in 1880.¹ She died on 4 February 1929.¹
     Her married name became Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound.
