     Sir Richard Rothwell, 1st Bt. was born circa 1628.² He was the son of William Rothwell and Alice Stow.² He married Elizabeth Clifton, daughter of Robert Clifton, in 1673.³ He died in 1693, without male issue.⁴
     He was created 1st Baronet Rothwell, of Ewerby and Stapleford, co. Lincoln [England] on 16 August 1661.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newark in 1677.⁵ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newark between 1679 and 1681.⁵

     Anne Williams was the daughter of Thomas Williams and Elisabeth Barnardiston.¹ She married Sir Anthony Thomas Abdy, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Anthony Abdy, 2nd Bt. and Mary Milward, after 1731.¹ She died on 21 September 1745, without issue.¹ She was buried at Kelvedon, Essex, England^G.¹ Her will (dated 26 December 1744) was proven (by probate) on 7 November 1745.¹
     From after 1731, her married name became Abdy.¹

     Thomas Williams lived at Tendring Hall, Suffolk, England^G.¹

     Elisabeth Barnardiston was the daughter of Sir Thomas Barnardiston, 1st Bt. and Anne Armyne.^1,2

     Sir Thomas Barnardiston, 1st Bt. was born circa 1618.² He was the son of Sir Nathaniel Barnardiston and Jane Soame.² He married Anne Armyne, daughter of Sir William Armyne, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Hicks, before 1643.² He died on 4 October 1669.² He was buried on 14 October 1669 at Ketton, Suffolk, England^G.²
     He was admitted to Gray’s Inn on 1 May 1635.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bury St. Edmunds from October 1645 to December 1648.² He was commander of the Regiment of Foot in 1648 against the King’s forces at Colchester.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk from 1654 to 1655.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk from 1656 to 1658.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk in 1659.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ipswich from 1661 to February 1662.² He was created 1st Baronet Barnardiston, of Ketton, co. Suffolk [England] on 7 April 1663.³ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁴
     

     Johann August Prinz von Sachsen-Gotha-Roda was born on 17 February 1704. He was the son of Friedrich II Herzog von Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg and Magdalena Augusta von Anhalt-Zerbst. He married Luise Gräfin Reuss zu Schleiz, daughter of Heinrich I Graf Reuss zu Schleiz and Juliane Dorothea zu Löwenstein-Wertheim, on 6 January 1752 at Roda, Germany^G. He died on 8 May 1767 at age 63 at Roda, Germany^G.
     He was a member of the House of Wettin. He gained the title of Prinz von Sachsen-Gotha-Roda.

     Luise Gräfin Reuss zu Schleiz was born on 3 July 1726 at Staffelstein, Germany^G. She was the daughter of Heinrich I Graf Reuss zu Schleiz and Juliane Dorothea zu Löwenstein-Wertheim. She married, firstly, Christian Wilhelm von Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg, son of Friedrich II Herzog von Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg and Magdalena Augusta von Anhalt-Zerbst, on 27 May 1743. She married, secondly, Johann August Prinz von Sachsen-Gotha-Roda, son of Friedrich II Herzog von Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg and Magdalena Augusta von Anhalt-Zerbst, on 6 January 1752 at Roda, Germany^G. She died on 28 May 1773 at age 46 at Roda, Germany^G.

     Sir William Abdy, 4th Bt. was baptised on 1 September 1689.^1,2 He was the son of Sir Anthony Abdy, 2nd Bt. and Mary Milward.¹ He and Mary Stotherd obtained a marriage license on 13 May 1714.¹ He died on 18 January 1749/50 at age 60.¹ He died intestate and his estate was administered on 5 February 1749/50, and again 25 February 1777.¹
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Abdy, of Felix Hall [in Kelvedon], co. Essex [E., 1641] on 11 June 1733, then ‘of Chobham Place, Surrey.¹‘ He lived at Golden Square, St. James’s, London, England^G.¹

     Mary Stotherd was the daughter of Philip Stotherd.¹ She and Sir William Abdy, 4th Bt. obtained a marriage license on 13 May 1714.¹ She died on 6 April 1743.¹
     From circa 1720, her married name became Abdy.¹

     Philip Stotherd lived at Terling, Essex, England^G.¹
