He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Philipps, of Picton Castle [E., 1621] on 27 March 1629.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Pembrokeshire from 1632 to 1633.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Carmarthenshire from 1640 to 1641.2 He was a royalist during the Civil War, and garrisoned Picton Castle.2

Sir Humphrey Brigges, 2nd Bt.1 
He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn on 1 November 1631.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wenlock between July 1646 and December 1646.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Brigges, of Haughton, co. Salop. [E., 1641] circa 1650.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Shropshire from 1665 to 1666.1
