     Sir Anthony Thomas Abdy, 5th Bt. was born circa 1720.¹ He was the son of Sir William Abdy, 4th Bt. and Mary Stotherd.¹ He married Catherine Hamilton, daughter of William Hamilton, on 13 August 1747 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, The City, London, England^G.¹ He died on 7 April 1775, without issue.¹ His will was proven (by probate) in April 1775.¹
     He was educated at Felsted School, Essex, England^G.² He was educated at St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.² He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1738.¹ He was a barrister in 1744.² He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Abdy, of Felix Hall [in Kelvedon], co. Essex [E., 1641] on 18 January 1749/50, then ‘of Chobham Place, Surrey.¹‘ In 1759 he succeeded to the estates of Albyn, in Stapleford Abbots, Essex, under the will of Sir John Abdy, 4th Baronet of Albyns.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Knaresborough between 1763 and 1775.¹ He was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.) in 1765.^1,2

     Catherine Hamilton was the daughter of William Hamilton.¹ She married Sir Anthony Thomas Abdy, 5th Bt., son of Sir William Abdy, 4th Bt. and Mary Stotherd, on 13 August 1747 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, The City, London, England^G.¹ She died in 1792.¹ Her will was proven (by probate) in October 1792.¹
     From 13 August 1747, her married name became Abdy.¹

     William Hamilton lived at Chancery Lane, London, England^G.¹

     Captain Sir William Abdy, 6th Bt. was born circa 1732.¹ He was the son of Sir William Abdy, 4th Bt. and Mary Stotherd.¹ He married Mary Brebner-Gordon, daughter of James Brebner-Gordon and Anne Lavington, on 4 January 1776.^2,3 He died on 21 July 1803.¹ He was buried at Chobham, Surrey, England^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate) in 1803, and again December 1835.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Abdy, of Felix Hall [in Kelvedon], co. Essex [E., 1641] on 7 April 1775, then ‘of Chobham Place, Surrey.¹‘

     Mary Brebner-Gordon was born at Antigua^G.¹ She was the daughter of James Brebner-Gordon and Anne Lavington.¹ She married Captain Sir William Abdy, 6th Bt., son of Sir William Abdy, 4th Bt. and Mary Stotherd, on 4 January 1776.^2,3 She died on 4 March 1829.¹ Her will was proven (by probate) in June 1829.¹
     From 4 January 1776, her married name became Abdy.¹

     James Brebner-Gordon married Anne Lavington.¹
     He lived at Moore Place, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹ His name was legally changed to James Brebner-Gordon.¹ He was given the name of James Brebner at birth.¹

     Her married name became Brebner-Gordon.¹

     Sir William Abdy, 7th Bt. was born in 1779 at Marylebone, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Captain Sir William Abdy, 6th Bt. and Mary Brebner-Gordon.¹ He married Anne Wellesley, daughter of Richard Wellesley, 1st Marquess Wellesley of Norragh and Hyacinthe Gabrielle Roland, on 3 July 1806 at Hyde Park Corner, London, England^G.² He and Anne Wellesley were divorced on 25 June 1816 by Act of Parliament.² He died on 16 April 1868 at 20 Hill Street, Berkely Square, London, England^G, without issue.¹
     He was educated between 1791 and 1793 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.^1,3 He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 27 January 1796.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1798 in the South Essex Militia.³ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.³ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Abdy, of Felix Hall [in Kelvedon], co. Essex [E., 1641] on 21 July 1803, then ‘of Chobham Place, Surrey.¹‘ He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1807 in the Southwark Volunteers.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Malmesbury from 1817 to 1818.³
     On his death, his Baronetcy became extinct.²

     Sir John Abdy, 1st and last Bt. was baptised on 4 June 1617.^1,2 He was the son of Anthony Abdy and Abigail Campbell.¹ He died circa 1662, unmarried.¹
     He was appointed Knight before 1660.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Abdy, of Moores [in Salcot Virley], co. Essex [England] on 22 June 1660.¹
     On his death, his Baronetcy became extinct, and his estates devolved on his brother, Sir Robert Abdy, 1st Baronet of Albyns.¹

     Sir Robert Abdy, 1st Bt. was baptised on 23 January 1615/16.² He was born circa 1615.¹ He was the son of Anthony Abdy and Abigail Campbell.¹ He married Catherine Gayer, daughter of Sir John Gayer and Catherine Hopkins, before 1643.¹ He died from 26 May 1670 to 12 November 1670.¹ He was buried at Stapleford Abbots, Essex, England^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 12 November 1670, and again 9 March 1691.¹
     He was appointed Knight on 4 June 1660.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Abdy, of Albyns [in Stapleford Abbots], Essex [England] on 9 June 1660.¹ His last will was dated 26 May 1670.
