     Eleanor Isabella Macdowall was born on 14 October 1848.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun.² She married Sir William Ingilby, 3rd Bt., son of Rev. Sir Henry John Ingilby, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Macdowall, on 4 February 1874.³ She died on 13 May 1923 at age 74.³
     From 4 February 1874, her married name became Ingilby.

     Sir William Ingilby, 3rd Bt. was born on 13 December 1829.² He was the son of Rev. Sir Henry John Ingilby, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Macdowall.³ He married Eleanor Isabella Macdowall, daughter of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun, on 4 February 1874.² He died on 17 December 1918 at age 89.³
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Bengal Artillery.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding, Yorkshire.² He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Ingilby, of Ripley, in the West Riding of the County of York [U.K., 1866] on 5 December 1911.¹

     Anna Dennistoun Macdowall was born on 20 September 1851.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun.² She married John Henry Stirling on 3 November 1886.¹
     From 3 November 1886, her married name became Stirling.

     John Henry Stirling married Anna Dennistoun Macdowall, daughter of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun, on 3 November 1886.¹

     Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 6th Bt. was born on 2 October 1805.² He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 5th Bt. and Catharine Fordyce.² He married Helenora Shaw-Stewart, daughter of Sir Michael Shaw-Stewart of Greenock and Blackhall, 5th Bt. and Catharine Maxwell, on 10 June 1833.³ He died on 29 March 1877 at age 71.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 14th Light Dragoons.² He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Maxwell, of Monreith, co. Wigtown [N.S., 1681] on 22 August 1838.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Galloway Rifles Militia.²

     Eleanora Louisa Maxwell was the daughter of Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 6th Bt. and Helenora Shaw-Stewart.^2,3 She married Henry Macdowall, 24th of Garthland, son of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun, on 4 February 1885.¹ She died on 19 March 1908, without issue.¹
     From 4 February 1885, her married name became Macdowall.

     Charles Blanchard lived at Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada^G.¹

     Alice Maude Mary Blanchard was the daughter of Charles Blanchard.² She married Day Hort Macdowall, 25th of Garthland, son of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun, on 12 August 1884.¹ She died in 1926.¹
     From 12 August 1884, her married name became Macdowall.

     Fergus Day Hort Macdowall was born on 28 August 1886.¹ He was the son of Day Hort Macdowall, 25th of Garthland and Alice Maude Mary Blanchard.² He died on 10 July 1887.¹

     Henry Charles Victor Macdowall, 26th of Garthland was born on 2 May 1891.¹ He was the son of Day Hort Macdowall, 25th of Garthland and Alice Maude Mary Blanchard.² He married Gladys Irene Pitts, daughter of Sidney John Pitts, on 19 April 1922.¹ He died on 26 March 1947 at age 55.¹
     He was educated at University School, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Kingston, Ontario, Canada^G.² He fought in the First World War, and was recommended for the Victoria Cross (V.C.), and was a POW.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1914 in the 88th Fusiliers, 7th Battalion, 1st Canadian Expeditionary Force.¹ He gained the rank of Brevet Captain in 1919 in the Canadian Scottish.² He was a practising solicitor [Briritsh Columbia] in 1920.² He sold Garthland House in 1935.¹
