     Agnes Morgan Hay was the daughter of Rear-Admiral James Hay and Mary Stewart.¹ She married General Edward Herbert Maxwell, son of Lt.-Col. Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 5th Bt. and Catharine Fordyce, on 20 November 1865.¹ She died on 23 February 1926.¹
     From 20 November 1865, her married name became Maxwell.¹

     General Edward Herbert Maxwell was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 5th Bt. and Catharine Fordyce.² He married Agnes Morgan Hay, daughter of Rear-Admiral James Hay and Mary Stewart, on 20 November 1865.¹ He died on 24 February 1885.²
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹ He was awarded the Chevalier, Legion of Honour.²

     Lt.-Col. Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 5th Bt. was born on 5 March 1779.¹ He was the son of Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 4th Bt. and Katharine Blair.¹ He married Catharine Fordyce, daughter of John Fordyce of Ayton and Catharine Maxwell, on 23 April 1803.¹ He died on 22 August 1838 at age 59.¹
     He fought in the Battle of Corunna in 1809, where he lost an arm.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Maxwell, of Monreith, co. Wigtown [N.S., 1681] on 17 February 1812.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 26th Foot.¹

     Adelaide Louisa Hay was the daughter of Rear-Admiral James Hay and Mary Stewart.¹ She married Francis Maxwell of Gribton on 19 January 1869.¹ She died on 21 January 1900.¹
     From 19 January 1869, her married name became Maxwell.¹

     Francis Maxwell of Gribton married Adelaide Louisa Hay, daughter of Rear-Admiral James Hay and Mary Stewart, on 19 January 1869.¹ He died in 1892.¹

     Laura Buchan Hay was the daughter of Rear-Admiral James Hay and Mary Stewart.¹ She married William Weir on 22 April 1885.¹ She died on 2 October 1926.¹
     From 22 April 1885, her married name became Weir.¹

     William Weir married Laura Buchan Hay, daughter of Rear-Admiral James Hay and Mary Stewart, on 22 April 1885.¹ He died in 1913.¹
     He lived at Kildonan, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.¹

     John Hay was born on 24 March 1698.¹ He was the son of Lord Alexander Hay and Catherine Charteris.¹ He died in December 1758 at age 60, without issue.¹

     William Hay was born on 30 December 1699.¹ He was the son of Lord Alexander Hay and Catherine Charteris.¹ He married Elizabeth Sinclair, daughter of Sir Robert Sinclair of Stevenston, 5th Bt., on 11 May 1759.¹
