     Her married name became Palgrave.¹ Her married name became Laurence.¹

     Eleanora Frances Murray Macdowall was the daughter of David Macdowall and Eleanor Mary Grant.² She married Lt.-Gen. Day Hort Macdowall, 22nd of Garthland, son of Day Hort Macdowall and Wilhelmina Graham, on 16 April 1838.¹ She died on 25 March 1875, without issue.¹

     Isabella Fergus Dennistoun was the daughter of James Dennistoun of Golf Hill.² She married Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland, son of Day Hort Macdowall and Wilhelmina Graham, on 22 January 1839.¹ She died on 14 April 1872.¹
     From 22 January 1839, her married name became Macdowall.

     Day Hort Macdowall was born on 4 February 1841.¹ He was the son of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun.² He died on 11 April 1841.¹

     William Macdowall was born on 4 November 1843.¹ He was the son of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun.² He died on 24 January 1866 at age 22.¹

     Henry Macdowall, 24th of Garthland was born on 13 March 1845.¹ He was the son of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun.² He married Eleanora Louisa Maxwell, daughter of Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 6th Bt. and Helenora Shaw-Stewart, on 4 February 1885.¹ He died on 3 April 1927 at age 82, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Loretto School, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Renfrewshire.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Renfrewshire.¹

     Day Hort Macdowall, 25th of Garthland was born on 6 March 1850.¹ He was the son of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun.² He married Alice Maude Mary Blanchard, daughter of Charles Blanchard, on 12 August 1884.¹ He died on 28 October 1927 at age 77.¹
     He was educated at Glenalmond College, Glenalmond, Perthshire, Scotland^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain between 1872 and 1879 in the Renfrewshire Rifle Volunteers.¹ He emigrated to Canada^G arriving on 1879.¹ He was member for the District of Lorne of North-West Council between 1883 and 1885.¹ In 1885 he conferred with Louis Riel and voluntarily attached himself to General Middleton’s field staff as a civilian in a military capacity in suppression of the rebellion, and was mentioned in despatches.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) [Canada] between 1887 and 1896, for Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.¹ He was an Indian Commissioner at Victoria, British Columbia, Canada^G.¹

     Maria Wilhelmina Macdowall was born on 19 June 1842.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun.² She died on 26 February 1928 at age 85, unmarried.¹
