Thomas Onslow, 2nd Earl of Onslow1 

Thomas Onslow, 2nd Earl of Onslow was born on 15 April 1754.3 He was the son of George Onslow, 1st Earl of Onslow and Henrietta Shelley.3 He married, firstly, Arabella Mainwaring Ellerker, daughter of Eaton Ellerker and Barbara Dixon, on 20 December 1776 at St. Mary, Lambeth, Surrey, England.4 He married, secondly, Charlotte Hale, daughter of William Hale and Elizabeth Farnaby, on 13 February 1783.1 He died on 22 February 1827 at age 72 at Merrow, Surrey, England.4
He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England.3 He graduated from Peterhouse College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1773 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Rye between 1775 and 1784.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Guildford between 1784 and 1806.3 He was Out Ranger of Windsor Great Park in 1793.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1794 in the Surrey Yeomanry.3 He gained the rank of Colonel between 1797 and 1812 in the Surrey Militia.3 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey.3 He held the office of High Steward of Guildford.3 He held the office of High Steward of Kingston.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Cranley of Cranley, co. Surrey [U.K., 1801] on 17 May 1814.3 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Onslow [E., 1674] on 17 May 1814.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Onslow, of Onslow, Shropshire [U.K., 1801] on 17 May 1814.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Cranley of Imbercourt, co. Surrey [G.B., 1786] on 17 May 1814.3 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Onslow, of Onslow, Shropshire and of West Clandon, co. Surrey [G.B., 1716] on 17 May 1814.3

Charlotte Harriet Jane Lockhart was born on 1 January 1828.1,2 She was the daughter of John Gibson Lockhart and Charlotte Sophia Scott.1 She married James Robert Hope-Scott, son of General Hon. Sir Alexander Hope and Georgiana Brown, on 19 August 1847.3 She died on 20 October 1858 at age 30.3 She was also reported to have died on 26 October 1858.2
Her married name became Hope-Scott.
