     Gladys Maud Garnar was born in 1896 at Lewisham, Kent, England.² She was the daughter of Sir James Wilson Garnar and Mary Ann Maud Lillie Tyler.^3,2 She married Sir Edgar Henry Newton, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Louis Arthur Newton, 1st Bt. and Eleanor Jane Faulder, on 17 February 1917.¹ She died on 18 November 1966.¹
     From 17 February 1917, her married name became Newton.

     Daphne Mary Newton was born on 27 October 1921.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Edgar Henry Newton, 2nd Bt. and Gladys Maud Garnar.²

     Sir Harry Michael Rex Newton, 3rd Bt. was born on 7 February 1923.¹ He was the son of Sir Harry Knottingham Newton, 2nd Bt. and Myrtle Irene Grantham.² He married Pauline Jane Howgill, daughter of Richard John Frederick Howgill, on 3 July 1958.¹ He died on 29 February 2008 at age 85.³
     Sir Harry Michael Rex Newton, 3rd Bt. usually went by his middle name of Michael.² He was educated at Eastbourne College, Eastbourne, Sussex, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War, in North Africa and the Middle East, where he was wounded.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Newton, of The Wood, Sydenham Hill, Lewisham, Kent and Kottingham House, Burton-on-Trent, co. Stafford [U.K., 1900] on 22 June 1951.² He was a director of Thomas Parsons & Sons.¹ He lived in 2003 at Cliff House, Old Lyme Road, Charmouth, Dorset, England.¹

     Richard John Frederick Howgill lived at Sullington Warren, Sussex, England.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹

     Pauline Jane Howgill was the daughter of Richard John Frederick Howgill.² She married Sir Harry Michael Rex Newton, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Harry Knottingham Newton, 2nd Bt. and Myrtle Irene Grantham, on 3 July 1958.¹ She died on 5 January 2002.¹
