Sir John Evelyn, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 August 1706.3 He was the son of Sir John Evelyn, 1st Bt. and Ann Boscawen.3 He married Hon. Mary Boscawen, daughter of Hugh Boscawen, 1st Viscount Falmouth and Charlotte Godfrey, on 17 August 1732.1 He died on 11 June 1767 at age 60.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Helston between 1717 and 1741.1,3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Penrhyn between 1741 and 1747.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Helston between 1747 and 1767.3 He was Clerk of the Green Cloth to Frederick, Prince of Wales.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Evelyn, of Wotton, Surrey [G.B., 1713] on 15 July 1763.3 He was Clerk of the Green Cloth to King George III.3
