Meath [I., 1863] on 7 December 1873.1 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1882 in the 5th Battalion, Royal Canadians.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1886 in the Coldstream Guards.1 He fought in the Dongola Expedition in 1896, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the Boer War in 1900, where he won a medal and four clasps.1
On his death, his Baronies became extinct while his Baronetcy became dormant.2
