     Laura Emma Milner was baptised on 23 May 1825 at Bolton Percy, Yorkshire, England.^1,2 She was the daughter of Sir William Mordaunt Sturt Milner, 4th Bt. and Harriet Elizabeth Cavendish-Bentinck.³ She married Egerton Vernon-Harcourt, son of Most Rev. and Rt. Hon. Edward Vernon-Harcourt and Lady Anne Leveson-Gower, on 8 December 1859.³ She died on 5 February 1889 at age 63.³
     Her married name became Vernon-Harcourt.

     Henry Richard Johnstone-Scott was born on 7 March 1830.¹ He was the son of Sir John Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, 2nd Bt. and Louisa Augusta Venables-Vernon.² He married Cressida Elizabeth Selby-Lowndes, daughter of William Selby-Lowndes and Lucy Hartman, on 4 October 1866.¹ He died on 29 January 1912 at age 81.¹
     He was given the name of William Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone at birth.¹ He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ In 1860 his name was legally changed to Henry Richard Johnstone-Scott by Royal Licence.¹ He lived at Wood Hall, Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     John Holmes Blakesley was registered as a Civil Engineer (C.E.)¹ He lived at 67 The Avenue, Kew Gardens, London, England^G.¹

     Sir John Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, 2nd Bt. was born on 28 August 1799.² He was the son of Sir Richard Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, 1st Bt. and Margaret Scott.^3,4 He married Louisa Augusta Venables-Vernon, daughter of Most Rev. and Rt. Hon. Edward Vernon-Harcourt and Lady Anne Leveson-Gower, on 14 June 1825.² He died on 24 February 1869 at age 69.²
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, of Hackness Hall, Yorkshire [G.B., 1795] in July 1807.⁵ He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England^G.² He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1821 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County York between 1830 and 1832.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Scarborough between 1832 and 1837.² He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1841.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Scarborough between 1841 and 1853.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Scarborough between 1857 and 1869.²

     Georgiana Vernon-Harcourt was the daughter of Most Rev. and Rt. Hon. Edward Vernon-Harcourt and Lady Anne Leveson-Gower.³ She married General George Alexander Malcolm, son of General Sir John Malcolm and Isabella Charlotte Campbell, on 4 December 1845.¹ She died on 29 October 1886, without issue.³
     From 4 December 1845, her married name became Malcolm.

     General George Alexander Malcolm was born on 21 January 1810.¹ He was the son of General Sir John Malcolm and Isabella Charlotte Campbell.² He married Georgiana Vernon-Harcourt, daughter of Most Rev. and Rt. Hon. Edward Vernon-Harcourt and Lady Anne Leveson-Gower, on 4 December 1845.¹ He died on 2 June 1888 at age 78, without issue.¹
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹ He gained the rank of General.¹

     Harcourt Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, 1st Baron Derwent was born on 3 January 1829.³ He was the son of Sir John Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, 2nd Bt. and Louisa Augusta Venables-Vernon.³ He married Charlotte Mills, daughter of Sir Charles Mills, 1st Bt. and Emily Cox, on 2 May 1850.³ He died on 1 March 1916 at age 87.³
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.³ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 2nd Life Guards.³ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the North Riding, Yorkshire.³ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the North Riding, Yorkshire.³ He gained the rank of Major in the East Riding Artillery Volunteers.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Scarborough between 1869 and 1880.³ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, of Hackness Hall, Yorkshire [G.B., 1795] on 24 February 1869.¹ He was created 1st Baron Derwent, of Hackness, in the North Riding of co. York [U.K.] on 10 October 1881.¹

     Cressida Elizabeth Selby-Lowndes was born on 22 March 1841.² She was the daughter of William Selby-Lowndes and Lucy Hartman.^3,4 She was baptised on 11 May 1841 at St. Mary’s Church, St. Marylebone Road, St. Marylebone, London, England.² She married Henry Richard Johnstone-Scott, son of Sir John Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, 2nd Bt. and Louisa Augusta Venables-Vernon, on 4 October 1866.¹ She died on 6 May 1937 at age 96.¹
     Her married name became Johnstone-Scott.

     William Selby-Lowndes was born on 5 November 1807.² He was the son of William Selby-Lowndes and Anne Eleanor Isabella Hanmer.² He married Lucy Hartman, daughter of Isaac Rawlings Hartman, in 1832.³ He died on 1 July 1886 at age 78.²
     He lived at Whadden Hall, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹

     Robert Swann married Blanche Maria Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, daughter of Sir John Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, 2nd Bt. and Louisa Augusta Venables-Vernon, on 23 August 1859.¹
     He lived at Askham Hall, Yorkshire, England^G.
