He was given the name of George John Sedley at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 After 18 June 1813 his name was legally changed to George John Venables-Vernon.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Derbyshire between 1831 and 1832.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for South Derbyshire between 1832 and 1834.1 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Vernon, Baron of Kinderton, co. Chester [G.B., 1762] on 18 November 1835.1 On 14 October 1837 his name was legally changed to George John Warren by Royal Licence.1

Major Sir William Boothby, 7th Bt. was born on 4 March 1745/46.1 He was the son of Sir Brooke Boothby, 5th Bt. and Phoebe Hollins.1 He was baptised on 16 March 1745/46 at Ashbourne, Derbyshire, EnglandG.1 He married Rafela del Gardo, daughter of Don Miguel del Gardo, on 14 May 1781.1 He died on 17 March 1824 at age 78 at Edwinstow, Nottinghamshire, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 9 May 1825.1 He was buried on 24 March 1824 at Ashbourne, Derbyshire, EnglandG.1
He gained the rank of Major in the 51st Foot.1 He was appointed Fellow, Linnean Society (F.L.S.)3 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Boothby, of Broadlow Ash, co. Derby [E., 1660] on 23 January 1824.1
