He was educated at Blundell’s School, Tiverton, Devon, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned on 4 February 1926 with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 4 February 1929.2 He gained the rank of Captain on 29 January 1938.2 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major on 4 February 1943.2 He gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel on 23 April 1945 in the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry.1 On 1 March 1957 he was court martialled and dismissed from the service.2
