     William Mills was born on 10 November 1750 at Barford, Warwickshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Reverend John Mills and Sarah Wheler.3,2 He married Elizabeth Digby, daughter of Hon. Wriothesly Digby and Mary Cotes, on 7 April 1786.1 He died on 20 March 1820 at age 69.1
     He was director of the East India Company between 1778 and 1785.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for St. Ives between 1790 and 1796.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Hampshire from 1803 to 1804.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Coventry between 1805 and 1812.2 He lived at Bisterne, Hampshire, EnglandG.4
