Hon. Penelope Pitt was born on 23 February 1749.1 She was the daughter of George Pitt, 1st Baron Rivers and Penelope Atkins.1 She married Lt.-Gen. Edward Ligonier, 1st Earl Ligonier of Clonmell, son of Colonel Francis Augustus Ligonier and Anne Freeman, on 6 December 1766.1 She and Lt.-Gen. Edward Ligonier, 1st Earl Ligonier of Clonmell were divorced on 7 November 1771.1 She died in 1827.1
From 6 December 1766, her married name became Ligonier.1

Lt.-Gen. Edward Ligonier, 1st Earl Ligonier of Clonmell was born in 1740.1 He was the son of Colonel Francis Augustus Ligonier and Anne Freeman.2 He married, firstly, Hon. Penelope Pitt, daughter of George Pitt, 1st Baron Rivers and Penelope Atkins, on 6 December 1766.1 He and Hon. Penelope Pitt were divorced on 7 November 1771.1 He married, secondly, Lady Mary Henley, daughter of Robert Henley, 1st Earl of Northington, on 14 December 1773.1 He died on 14 June 1782.1
He gained the title of 1st Earl Ligonier of Clonmell. He gained the rank of Major-General in 1775.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1777.1
Lady Mary Henley1 
From 14 December 1773, her married name became Ligonier.2 From 2 February 1788, her married name became Noel.2
