     Commander John Becher was baptised on 27 July 1737 at St. Stephens, Bristol, England^G.^1,2 He was the son of Reverend Henry Becher and Mary Matthews.¹ He married Anne Haysham, daughter of Thomas Haysham and Ann Attwick, on 26 September 1761 at Hagley, Stourbridge, Worcestershire, England^G.^1,2 He died on 7 November 1783 at age 46.²
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 21 January 1757 in the Royal Navy.² He gained the rank of Commander on 1 February 1778 in the Royal Navy.^1,2

     Anne Haysham was the daughter of Thomas Haysham and Ann Attwick.² She married Commander John Becher, son of Reverend Henry Becher and Mary Matthews, on 26 September 1761 at Hagley, Stourbridge, Worcestershire, England^G.^1,2 She died between January 1817 and August 1825. Her will was proven (by probate) on 6 August 1825.²
     From 26 September 1761, her married name became Becher.¹ Her last will was dated 28 January 1817.²

     Sir Robert Charles Sinclair of Murkle, 9th Bt. was born on 25 August 1820.² He was the son of Admiral Sir John Gordon Sinclair of Murkle, 8th Bt. and Anne de Courcy.^1,2 He married, firstly, Charlotte Anne Coote, daughter of Lieutenant John Coote, in 1851.² He married, secondly, Louisa Hugonin, daughter of Roderick Hugonin, on 5 December 1876.² He died on 5 May 1899 at age 78, without issue.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 38th Regiment.² He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Sinclair [N.S., 1636] on 13 November 1863.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)²

     Harriet Cowper married, firstly, John Harman Becher, son of Commander John Becher and Anne Haysham, on 25 December 1786 at St. John’s, Calcutta, India^G.^2,1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Edward William Butler on 18 October 1806.^2,1
     Her married name became Becher.² From 18 October 1806, her married name became Butler.

     Lt.-Col. Edward William Butler married Harriet Cowper on 18 October 1806.^1,3 He died in August 1819.³
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Bengal Artillery.²

     Eliza Mathew is the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Edward Mathew and Lady Jane Bertie.^1,2 She married Thomas Maitland.¹
     Her married name became Maitland.¹

     Maj.-Gen. Edward Mathew was born in 1729 at Antigua. He married Lady Jane Bertie, daughter of Peregrine Bertie, 2nd Duke of Ancaster and Kesteven and Jane Brownlow, on 21 March 1753.² He died in 1805 at Somerset, England.
     He held the office of Commander-in-Chief of the West Indies.² He held the office of Equerry to King George III.² He held the office of Governor of Grenada between 1784 and 1789.²

     Anne Woodhouse is the daughter of William Woodhouse and Mary Mompesson.² She married William Holbech, son of Hugh Holbech and Catherine Cornwall, on 20 October 1772 at St. Mary, Warwick, Warwickshire, England.^1,2
     From 20 October 1772, her married name became Holbech.¹
