Margaret Smyth was the daughter of Dr. James Smyth.3 She married Thomas Carmichael, son of David Carmichael, 9th of Balmedie and Anna Graham, in 1740.1 She died on 16 November 1803.1
From 1740, her married name became Carmichael.
