     Sir Charles Goring, 9th Bt. was born on 2 June 1828 at Portugal Street, Hanover Square, Mayfair, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir Harry Dent Goring, 8th Bt. and Augusta Harvey.¹ He was baptised on 2 August 1828 at Yapton, Sussex, England^G.¹ He married, firstly, Margaret Anne Panton, daughter of Jones Panton, on 11 February 1850 at Trinity Church, Paddington, London, England^G.¹ He married, secondly, Eliza Molyneux, daughter of Reverend Capel Molyneux and Maria Carpenter, on 21 April 1857 at St. James’ Church, Paddington, London, England^G.¹ He died on 3 November 1884 at age 56 at Highden, Washington, Sussex, England^G, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 12th Lancers.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Bowyer, of Highden, Sussex [E., 1678] on 19 April 1859.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1860 in the 8th Sussex Rifle Volunteers.¹

     Margaret Anne Panton was the daughter of Jones Panton.¹ She married Sir Charles Goring, 9th Bt., son of Sir Harry Dent Goring, 8th Bt. and Augusta Harvey, on 11 February 1850 at Trinity Church, Paddington, London, England^G.¹ She died in 1856.¹
     From 11 February 1850, her married name became Goring.¹

     Eliza Molyneux was born on 4 May 1835.² She was the daughter of Reverend Capel Molyneux and Maria Carpenter.¹ She was baptised on 5 June 1835 at St. Mary Magdalene, Woolwich, Kent, England.³ She married, firstly, Sir Charles Goring, 9th Bt., son of Sir Harry Dent Goring, 8th Bt. and Augusta Harvey, on 21 April 1857 at St. James’ Church, Paddington, London, England^G.¹ She married, secondly, Colonel Robert Ashworth Godolphin Cosby, son of Sydney Cosby and Emily Ashworth, on 22 January 1885.¹ She died on 20 March 1920 at age 84.⁴
     From 21 April 1857, her married name became Goring.¹ From 1893, her married name became Cosby.¹

     Thomas Maitland married Eliza Mathew, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Edward Mathew and Lady Jane Bertie.¹

     Maria Carpenter was the daughter of Admiral James Carpenter.¹ She married Reverend Capel Molyneux, son of John Molyneux and Ella Young, in June 1831.² She died on 15 March 1869.²

     Reverend Charles Goring was born circa 1805.¹ He was the son of Sir Charles Forster Goring, 7th Bt. and Bridget Dent.¹ He married Maria Arabella St. John, daughter of General Hon. Frederick St. John, on 2 October 1832.^1,2 He died on 4 August 1859.¹
     He was the Rector at Twineham, Sussex, England^G.²

     Maria Arabella St. John was the daughter of General Hon. Frederick St. John.¹ She married Reverend Charles Goring, son of Sir Charles Forster Goring, 7th Bt. and Bridget Dent, on 2 October 1832.^1,2 She died on 13 January 1890.²
     From 2 October 1832, her married name became Goring.¹
