Thomas Cubitt was born on 25 February 1788 at Buxton, Norfolk, EnglandG.1,3 He was the son of Jonathan Cubitt and Agnes Scarlett.4 He married Mary Anne Warner, daughter of Samuel Warner, in 1819.4 He died on 20 December 1855 at age 67 at Denbies, Surrey, EnglandG.1,3
He was an eminent builder on the Westminster and Lowndes estates (including Belgrave Square, Lowndes Square and Chesham Place in London.)1 He lived at Denbies, Surrey, EnglandG.4 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of Nationary Biography.5

He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He was Gentleman of the Bedchamber to King James VI.1 He was Keeper of Dumbarton Castle in 1582.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire between 1593 and 1604.1

She was also known as Isabella Ogilvy.1,2 From 10 January 1490, her married name became Stewart.2 Her married name became Stewart. After her marriage, Isabel Ogilvy was styled as Countess of Buchan circa 1498.

Margaret Ruthven1 
Her married name became Wood.1 After her marriage, Margaret Ruthven was styled as Countess of Buchan. Her married name became Stewart. From 21 June 1508, her married name became Erskine.1 Her marriage to William Wood of Bonnyton was annulled on 18 December 1534.1

William Ruthven, 1st Lord Ruthven 
He held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Perthshire in 1471.2 He sat in Parliament among the feudal barons as Laird of Ruthven.2 He held the office of Conservator of a Truce with England in 1484.2 He was appointed Knight in January 1483/84.2 He fought in the Battle of Sauchieburn in 1488, where he sided with King James III against the rebel nobles.2 He was created 1st Lord Ruthven [Scotland] on 29 January 1487/88.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in August 1513.2 After 1515 he was one of the four Guardians of the boy-King James V.2
