Sir George Ramsay, 1st Lord Ramsay of Dalhousie1 
He was appointed Knight before 1603.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Kincardineshire [Scotland] in 1617.1 He was created 1st Lord Ramsay of Melrose [Scotland] on 25 August 1618.1 He was created 1st Lord Ramsay of Dalhousie [Scotland] on 5 January 1619, which he exchanged for his earlier 1618 Lordship.1

Between 1528 and 1564 he had charters of his lands.1 He fought in the Battle of Langside in 1568, where he supported Mary, Queen of Scots.1 He also had five other daughters.1
