     James Sutherland Chisholm of Chisholm was born in 1806.¹ He was the son of Roderick Chisholm and Isabella Sutherland.² He married Annie Cecilia Macdonell, daughter of Angus Macdonell, on 13 November 1861.¹ He died on 28 May 1885.¹
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Inverness-shire.¹ In 1883 who disentailed the Chisholm estates.¹ He had two other sons and a daughter, who all died in infancy.²

     Jemima Chisholm is the daughter of Roderick Chisholm and Isabella Sutherland.² She married unknown Milner on 8 January 1840.¹
     From 8 January 1840, her married name became Milner.¹

     Roderick Chisholm, The Chisholm was born in 1697.¹ He was the son of John Chisholm, The Chisholm and Jean Mackenzie.^2,1 He married, secondly, Isabel Mackenzie, daughter of Sir Kenneth Mackenzie of Scatwell, 1st Bt. and Lilas Mackenzie.¹ He married, firstly, Isobella Macdonell, daughter of Alastair Macdonell, 11th of Glengarry and Lady Mary Mackenzie, in 1713.²
     In 1715 he joined the Chevalier.¹ In 1745 he joined Prince Charles.¹

     William Chisholm was the son of Roderick Chisholm, The Chisholm and Isobella Macdonell.² He married, firstly, Janet Mackintosh, daughter of John Mackintosh of Kyllachy.¹ He married, secondly, Catherine Baillie, daughter of Hugh Baillie of Dochfour.² He died in 1807.²
     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He held the office of Provost of Inverness between 1773 and 1776.¹ He held the office of Provost of Inverness between 1779 and 1782.²

     Janet Mackintosh is the daughter of John Mackintosh of Kyllachy.² She married William Chisholm, son of Roderick Chisholm, The Chisholm and Isobella Macdonell.¹
     Her married name became Chisholm.
