Sir John Stewart, 1st of Dalswinton and Garlies1

He fought in the Battle of Homildon Hill in 1402, where he was captured by the English, but escaped.1 He lived at Dalswinton, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.1

Robert Boyd, 5th Lord Boyd of Kilmarnock1 
He was Chamberlain of Kilmarnock in 1534.1 In 1544 he aided the Regent Arran in defeating the Earl of Glencairn at Glasgow.1 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Boyd of Kilmarnock [S., c. 1454] circa 1558.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 17 May 1567.1 He fought in the Battle of Langside on 13 May 1568, where he was a supporter of Queen Mary.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] between 7 September 1571 and 1573.1 He held the office of Extraordinary Lord of Session [Scotland] between 1573 and 1578.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in July 1574.1 He was a Commissioner to treat with England in 1578.1 He held the office of Extraordinary Lord of Session [Scotland] between 1578 and 1583.1 He fought in the Raid of Ruthven in August 1579.1 In June 1583 he was banished after the King’s escape.1 He was a Commissioner to treat with England in 1586.1 He held the office of Extraordinary Lord of Session [Scotland] between 1586 and 1588.1 In February 1585/86 he was recalled.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

From between 13 May 1576 and 20 May 1576, her married name became Montgomerie.1 After her marriage, Giles Boyd was styled as Countess of Eglinton on 3 June 1585.
