     Sir John Douglas, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1708.¹ He was the son of Sir William Douglas, 2nd Bt. and Helen Erskine.¹ He married Christian Cuninghame, daughter of Sir William Cuninghame, 9th of Caprington, 2nd Bt. and Janet Dick, circa 1730.¹ He died on 13 November 1778.¹
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Douglas, of Kelhead [N.S., 1667] on 10 October 1733.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dumfries Burghs between 1734 and 1736.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dumfries-shire between 1741 and 1747.¹ Between 1746 and 1748 he was imprisoned in the Tower of London for suspected Jacobitism.¹

     Christian Cuninghame was the daughter of Sir William Cuninghame, 9th of Caprington, 2nd Bt. and Janet Dick.² She married Sir John Douglas, 3rd Bt., son of Sir William Douglas, 2nd Bt. and Helen Erskine, circa 1730.¹ She died in November 1741.¹
     From circa 1730, her married name became Douglas.¹

     Reverend Canon George Herbert Curteis was born in 1824 at Canterbury, Kent, England.¹ He married Elizabeth Anna Ball in 1863.¹ He died in 1894 at Lichfield, Staffordshire, England.¹
     He was the Rector at Waldron, Sussex, England.¹

     Sir William Douglas, 4th Bt. was born circa 1730.² He was the son of Sir John Douglas, 3rd Bt. and Christian Cuninghame.² He married Grace Johnstone, daughter of William Johnstone, on 21 March 1772.² He died on 16 May 1783.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dumfries Burghs between 1768 and 1780.² He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Douglas, of Kelhead [N.S., 1667] on 13 November 1778.²

     Grace Johnstone was the daughter of William Johnstone.¹ She married Sir William Douglas, 4th Bt., son of Sir John Douglas, 3rd Bt. and Christian Cuninghame, on 21 March 1772.¹ She died on 25 March 1836.¹
     Her married name became Douglas.

     William Johnstone lived at Lockerbie, Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.¹

     John Douglas, 7th Marquess of Queensberry was born in 1779.¹ He was the son of Sir William Douglas, 4th Bt. and Grace Johnstone.² He married Sarah Douglas, daughter of Major James Sholto Douglas and Sarah Dawes, on 16 July 1817.¹ He died on 19 December 1856.¹
     He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Dumfries-shire between 1837 and 1856.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Lord Douglas of Hawick and Tibberis [S., 1628] on 3 December 1837.² He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Douglas, of Kelhead [N.S., 1667] on 3 December 1837.² He succeeded as the 9th Viscount of Drumlanrig [S., 1628] on 3 December 1837.² He succeeded as the 7th Marquess of Queensberry [S., 1681] on 3 December 1837.² He succeeded as the 7th Earl of Drumlanrig and Sanchar [S., 1681] on 3 December 1837.² He succeeded as the 7th Viscount of Nith, Torthorwald and Ross [S., 1681] on 3 December 1837.² He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Queensberry [S., 1633] on 3 December 1837.² He succeeded as the 7th Lord Douglas of Kinmouth, Midlebie, and Dornock [S., 1681] on 3 December 1837.²

     Charles James Sholto Douglas was the son of Sir John Douglas, 3rd Bt. and Christian Cuninghame.² He married, firstly, Basilia Dawes, daughter of James Dawes.¹ He married, secondly, Mary Bullock, daughter of Reverend Richard Bullock.¹
     He was Collector of Customs at Jamaica.¹

     Basilia Dawes was the daughter of James Dawes.¹ She married, secondly, Charles James Sholto Douglas, son of Sir John Douglas, 3rd Bt. and Christian Cuninghame.¹ She married, firstly, Richard Quarrell.¹
     Her married name became Quarrell.¹ Her married name became Douglas.¹

     Letitia Sarah Gore was born in 1982.¹ She is the daughter of William Henry Gore and Cecilia Nell Cox.¹
