     William Erskine Douglas was born on 15 August 1766.¹ He was the son of Erskine Douglas and Eleanor (?)¹ He died on 17 September 1771 at age 5.¹

     unknown daughter Thompson is the daughter of William Thompson.¹ She married David Douglas, son of Sir William Douglas, 2nd Bt. and Helen Erskine.¹
     Her married name became Douglas.¹

     Lt.-Col. William Douglas was born on 26 May 1754.¹ He was the son of David Douglas and unknown daughter Thompson.¹ He married, firstly, Catherine Johnstone, daughter of William Johnstone, on 27 October 1795.¹ He married, secondly, Wilhelmina Douglas on 29 November 1824.¹
     He retired from the military in 1802, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the 85th Foot.¹

     Catherine Johnstone was the daughter of William Johnstone.¹ She married Lt.-Col. William Douglas, son of David Douglas and unknown daughter Thompson, on 27 October 1795.¹ She died in 1823.¹
     From 27 October 1795, her married name became Douglas.¹
