Patrick FitzMaurice, 15th Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw1 
He was educated at England in the courts of Mary and Elizabeth.1 In 1580 he returned to Ireland, and joined the rebellion of the Earl of Desmond, and was taken prisoner.1 In 1581 he escaped from Limerick Castle.1 In 1587 he was recaptured by the English, and held prisoner in Dublin Castle for a time.1 He succeeded as the 15th Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw [I., c. 1295] on 16 December 1590.1 In 1592 he agreed to pay a further rent to the Crown, but then rebelled again.1 He was commander of the 500 foot and 60 horse in 1599.1
