     Godfrey Arthur Fetherstonhaugh was born on 13 August 1860 at Moyne, County Wicklow, Ireland^G.² He was the son of Reverend Thomas Orme Fetherstonhaugh and Henrietta Lucretia Richardson.¹ He died on 18 February 1904 at age 43.² He was also reported to have died in 1880.¹
     He gained the rank of office in the Royal Navy.¹

     Edward Fetherstonhaugh was born on 21 May 1863 at Moyne, County Wicklow, Ireland^G.² He was the son of Reverend Thomas Orme Fetherstonhaugh and Henrietta Lucretia Richardson.¹ He died on 15 May 1897 at age 33.² He was also reported to have died in 1884.¹

     William Fetherstonhaugh was born on 15 July 1783 at Carrick, County Westmeath, Ireland^G.¹ He was the son of William Fetherstonhaugh and Susanna Wills.² He married Elizabeth Orme, daughter of William Orme and Anne Jackson, on 6 October 1806 at Carrick, County Westmeath, Ireland^G.² He died on 21 April 1851 at age 67 at Carrick, County Westmeath, Ireland^G.¹

     Elizabeth Orme was born circa 1787.² She was the daughter of William Orme and Anne Jackson.^1,2 She married William Fetherstonhaugh, son of William Fetherstonhaugh and Susanna Wills, on 6 October 1806 at Carrick, County Westmeath, Ireland^G.¹ She died on 1 June 1830 at Carrick, County Westmeath, Ireland^G.²
     From 6 October 1806, her married name became Fetherstonhaugh.¹

     Captain John Richardson was born on 5 August 1812 at Scotland^G.¹ He died on 4 February 1855 at age 42.¹
     He gained the rank of officer in 1826 in the Royal Navy.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.² He was Inspecting Commander of the Coastguard at Galway, County Galway, Ireland^G.¹

     William Christian was born on 14 April 1608 at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.^2,3 He was the son of Deemster Ewan Christian and Katherine Harrison.¹ He married Elizabeth Cockshutt, daughter of George Cockshutt, circa 1632.² He died on 2 January 1662/63 at age 54 at Hango Hill, Isle of Man^G, executed.⁴ He was buried in January 1662/63 at the Chancel, Kirk Malew, Isle of Man^G.²
     William Christian also went by the nick-name of Illiam Dhône (or in English, Brown-haired William.)⁴ He was Steward of the Abbey lands in 1640.² He gained the rank of Commande in the Insular Militia.² He held the office of Member of the House of Keys (M.H.K.) in 1643.² In 1643 his father made over to him the estate of Ronaldsway.⁴ He held the office of Receiver-General of the Isle of Man in 1648.⁴ In 1651 he made terms with Colonel Duckenfield, who came to take possession of the Island after the defeat and execution of James, Earl of Derby.² He held the office of Governor of the Isle of Man between 1656 and 1659.² In 1660 at London, England^G, he was arrested on an action for 20,000l, which he had embezzled while Receiver-General.⁴ On 12 December 1662 at Isle of Man^G he was again arrested for the same charges.⁴ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁴
      He was the greatest of Manx Patriots! After the Restoration, Charles, the 8th Earl of Derby, had Illiam Dhone arrested and tried as a traitor to the Derby family. He was condemned to death by a packed Court of Justice on 29 December 1662. The real reason for the execution was to wreak vengeance on Illiam Dhone for the leading part that he and his family had played in frustrating the Earl’s persistent attempts to change the old feudal land tenure into a leasehold tenancy, a deep-laid scheme, which would have rendered all land in the Island the personal property of the Earl, and which the landed proprietors such as Illiam Dhone, Deemster Ewan Christian, Governor Edward Christian and some 800 others stubbornly resisted. This struggle had lasted long, and would certainly have been successful, but for the Christian’s strong opposition. After the execution, Earl Charles confiscated Ronaldsway, but, on petition to King Charles II, he was ordered to restore it to the heir. However, the Earl then so persecuted the Christians that he succeeded in his endeavour to drive Illiam Dhone’s branch of the powerful Milntown and Ronaldsway clan out of the Island. His sons then settled in Ireland.²

     Thomas Christian was born between 1641 and 1647 at Ronaldsway, Malew, Isle of Man^G.^2,3 He was the son of William Christian and Elizabeth Cockshutt.^1,2 He married Mary Birch, daughter of Colonel Thomas Birch and Alice Brooke.³ He died circa June 1700 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England^G.² He was buried on 21 June 1700.²
     He was a Merchant & Shipowner at Liverpool, Lancashire, England^G.³

     Robert Balfour was born on 26 September 1822 at Stirlingshire, Scotland^G.² He was the son of Robert Balfour and Isabella Edmond.¹ He married Annie Shekelton, daughter of Robert Shekleton and Anne Furlong, on 17 March 1864.^3,4 He died on 27 October 1875 at age 53 at London, England^G.²

     Annie Shekelton was born on 26 December 1830.^2,3 She was the daughter of Robert Shekleton and Anne Furlong.^2,3 She married Robert Balfour, son of Robert Balfour and Isabella Edmond, on 17 March 1864.^2,3 She died on 9 February 1917 at age 86.^2,3
     From 17 March 1864, her married name became Balfour.^2,3

     Isabella Anne Balfour was born on 3 October 1866.^2,3 She was the daughter of Robert Balfour and Annie Shekelton.¹ She died on 19 September 1906 at age 39, unmarried.^2,3
