     Lt. Sir Gawaine George Stuart Baillie of Polkemmet, 5th Bt. was born on 29 May 1893.¹ He was the son of Sir Robert Alexander Baillie of Polkemmet, 4th Bt. and Isabel Wilkie.¹ He died on 7 September 1914 at age 21 at France^G, killed in action.¹
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Baillie, of Polkemmet, Linlithgowshire [U.K., 1823] on 16 October 1907.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 2nd Dragoons, Scots Greys.¹ He fought in the First World War.

     James Henry Leigh was born on 8 February 1765.¹ He was the son of James Leigh and Lady Caroline Brydges.^1,2 He married Hon. Julia Judith Twisleton, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Thomas Twisleton, 7th Baron Saye and Sele and Elizabeth Turner, on 8 December 1786 at Boughton, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He died on 27 October 1823 at age 58.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.³ He wrote the book The New Roscaid, published 1785.³ He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)³ On 2 July 1806 he inherited Stoneleigh on the death of the 5th and last Baron Leigh of Stoneleigh’s sister Mary.⁴ He held the office of High Sheriff of Winchester in 1819.³ He lived at Adlestrop, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He lived at Longborough, Warwickshire, England^G.⁴

     Hon. Julia Judith Twisleton was born on 21 October 1771.¹ She was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Thomas Twisleton, 7th Baron Saye and Sele and Elizabeth Turner.^1,2 She married James Henry Leigh, son of James Leigh and Lady Caroline Brydges, on 8 December 1786 at Boughton, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ She died on 8 February 1843 at age 71.¹
     From 8 December 1786, her married name became Leigh.¹

     Maj.-Gen. Thomas Twisleton, 7th Baron Saye and Sele was born circa 1735.² He was the son of John Twisleton and Anne Gardner.² He married Elizabeth Turner, daughter of Sir Edward Turner, 2nd Bt. and Cassandra Leigh, on 14 December 1767.² He died on 1 July 1788, by his own hand.²
     He gained the rank of Ensign in 1754 in the Scots Guards.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant and Captain in 1758.² He fought in the Battle of Brückmühle on 21 September 1762.² He gained the rank of Colonel in 1777.² He succeeded as the 7th Baron Saye and Sele [E., 1603] on 29 June 1781, when his claim to the title was allowed.³ He was Colonel of the 9th Foot between June 1782 and 1788.² He gained the rank of Major-General in November 1782.²

     James Leigh was baptised on 7 July 1724.¹ He was the son of William Leigh and Mary Lord.^1,2 He married Lady Caroline Brydges, daughter of Henry Brydges, 2nd Duke of Chandos and Lady Mary Bruce, on 10 March 1755.³ He died on 31 March 1774 at age 49.³
     He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.⁴ He lived at Adlestrop, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He lived at Longborough, Warwickshire, England^G.³

     William Leigh was born on 3 November 1691.² He was the son of Theophilus Leigh and Hon. Mary Brydges.^1,3 He married Mary Lord, daughter of Robert Lord, in 1722.² He died on 9 December 1757 at age 66.²
     He graduated from Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)⁴ He lived at Longborough, Warwickshire, England^G.² He lived at Adlestrop, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹

     Theophilus Leigh was born circa 1643.² He was the son of William Leigh and Joanna Perry.^1,3 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Craven, daughter of Sir William Craven, in 1672.⁴ He married, secondly, Hon. Mary Brydges, daughter of James Brydges, 8th Baron Chandos of Sudeley and Elizabeth Barnard, on 28 November 1689.⁴ He died on 10 February 1724/25.⁴
     Theophilus Leigh also went by the nick-name of Chick. He lived at Adlestrop, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He lived at Longborough, Warwickshire, England^G.⁴

     William Leigh was born circa 1604.¹ He was the son of William Leigh and Elizabeth Whorwood.^1,2 He married, thirdly, Joanna Perry, daughter of Thomas Perry.³ He married, firstly, Margaret Guise.⁴ He married, secondly, Mary Saunders.⁴ He died on 17 June 1690.³

     William Leigh was born circa 1586.¹ He was the son of Rowland Leigh and Catharine Berkeley.^1,2 He married Elizabeth Whorwood, daughter of Sir William Whorwood and Anne Field.³ He died in 1632.¹

     Rowland Leigh was the son of Sir Thomas Leigh and Alice Barker.^1,2 He married, firstly, Margery Lowe, daughter of Thomas Lowe.³ He married, secondly, Catharine Berkeley, daughter of Sir Richard Berkeley and Elizabeth Ann Reade, in 1577.³ He died in 1603.¹
     He was educated at Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.⁴ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cricklade, Wiltshire in 1584.⁴ He lived at Longborough, Warwickshire, England^G.³ He lived at Adlestrop, Gloucestershire, England^G.³ He also had two daughters by his second wife.³
