     Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss was the son of Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss and Euphemia Lundie.² He married by contract, firstly, Katherine Sinclair, daughter of Henry Sinclair, 3rd Lord Sinclair and Margaret Hepburn, on 27 January 1511/12.³ He married by contract, secondly, Mariota Towers, daughter of John Towers, on 7 March 1526.³ He died circa 27 May 1544.³

     Katherine Sinclair was the daughter of Henry Sinclair, 3rd Lord Sinclair and Margaret Hepburn.¹ A contract for the marriage of Katherine Sinclair and Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss was signed on 27 January 1511/12.¹
     From 27 January 1511/12, her married name became Wemyss.

     Sir John Wemyss of Wemyss was the son of Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss and Katherine Sinclair.² He married by contract, firstly, Margaret Otterburn, daughter of Sir Adam Otterburn of Redhall, on 20 October 1534.² He and Margaret Otterburn were divorced in 1556.² He married, secondly, Janet Trail, daughter of Alexander Trail of Blebo, circa 21 February 1557/58.² He died circa 25 January 1571/72.
     He fought in the Battle of Pinkie on 10 September 1547.² He fought in the Battle of Langside on 13 May 1568.²

     Margaret Otterburn was the daughter of Sir Adam Otterburn of Redhall.¹ She married by contract, firstly, Sir John Wemyss of Wemyss, son of Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss and Katherine Sinclair, on 20 October 1534.¹ She and Sir John Wemyss of Wemyss were divorced in 1556.¹
     Her married name became Wemyss.

     From 1998, her married name became de Costobadie.¹

     Cecilia Ruthven was the daughter of William Ruthven, 2nd Lord Ruthven and Janet Halyburton, Lady Dirletoun.¹ A contract for the marriage of Cecilia Ruthven and Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss was signed on 7 May 1556.² She died on 8 July 1589.²
     Her married name became Wemyss.

     Sir John Wemyss of Wemyss was the son of Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss and Cecilia Ruthven.² He married by contract, firstly, Lady Margaret Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 6th Earl of Morton and Lady Agnes Leslie, on 17 April 1574.² He married by contract, secondly, Mary Stewart, daughter of James Stewart, 1st Lord Doune and Lady Margaret Campbell, in August 1581.² He died circa June 1622.²

     Mary Stewart was the daughter of James Stewart, 1st Lord Doune and Lady Margaret Campbell.^1,2 A contract for the marriage of Mary Stewart and Sir John Wemyss of Wemyss was signed in August 1581.²
     From August 1581, her married name became Wemyss.
