Lady Helen Hamilton is the daughter of John Hamilton, 4th Earl of Haddington and Lady Christian Lindsay.1,3 A contract for the marriage of Lady Helen Hamilton and Sir William Anstruther, Lord Anstruther was signed on 5 July 1677.3

Lady Margaret Carmichael1 

Lady Margaret Carmichael was the daughter of Brig.-Gen. James Carmichael, 2nd Earl of Hyndford and Lady Elizabeth Maitland.1 She married Sir John Anstruther of Anstruther, 1st Bt., son of Sir William Anstruther, Lord Anstruther and Lady Helen Hamilton, on 24 January 1716/17 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 She died on 6 November 1721.1 She was buried at Elie Church, Elie, Fife, ScotlandG.1
From 24 January 1716/17, her married name became Anstruther.1

Brig.-Gen. James Carmichael, 2nd Earl of Hyndford was born before 1671. He was the son of John Carmichael, 1st Earl of Hyndford and Beatrix Drummond.3 He married Lady Elizabeth Maitland, daughter of John Maitland, 5th Earl of Lauderdale.4 He died on 16 August 1737.4
He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1704.4 He gained the rank of Colonel of Dragoons in 1706.4 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in 1710.4 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Inglisberry and Nemphlar [S., 1701] on 20 September 1710.4 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Hyndford [S., 1701] on 20 September 1710.4 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Carmichael, of Westraw and Hyndford, co. Lanark [N.S., 1627] on 20 September 1710.5 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Carmichael of Carmichael [S., 1701] on 20 September 1710.4

Sir John Anstruther of that Ilk, 2nd Bt. was born on 27 December 1718 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He was the son of Sir John Anstruther of Anstruther, 1st Bt. and Lady Margaret Carmichael.1 He married Janet Fall, daughter of James Fall and Jean Murray, on 4 October 1750 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He died on 4 July 1799 at age 80.1
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Anstruther, of Anstruther and of Elie House, co. Fife [N.S., 1700] on 21 September 1753.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Anstruther-Easter Burghs between 1766 and 1782.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Anstruther-Easter Burghs between 1790 and 1793.1

Janet Fall was born circa 1717.1 She was the daughter of James Fall and Jean Murray.1 She married Sir John Anstruther of that Ilk, 2nd Bt., son of Sir John Anstruther of Anstruther, 1st Bt. and Lady Margaret Carmichael, on 4 October 1750 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 She died on 17 February 1802.1
From 4 October 1750, her married name became Anstruther.1
