     Lady Evelyn Kathleen Wellesley was born on 30 July 1873.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel Arthur Charles Wellesley, 4th Duke of Wellington and Kathleen Emily Bulkeley Williams.¹ She married Hon. Robert James, son of Walter Henry James, 2nd Baron Northbourne of Betteshanger and Edith Emeline Mary Lane, on 18 June 1900.¹ She died on 19 January 1922 at age 48.¹
     From 18 June 1900, her married name became James.

     Hon. Robert James was born on 13 May 1873.² He was the son of Walter Henry James, 2nd Baron Northbourne of Betteshanger and Edith Emeline Mary Lane.^2,1 He married, firstly, Lady Evelyn Kathleen Wellesley, daughter of Colonel Arthur Charles Wellesley, 4th Duke of Wellington and Kathleen Emily Bulkeley Williams, on 18 June 1900.¹ He married, secondly, Lady Serena Mary Barbara Lumley, daughter of Alfred Frederick George Beresford Lumley, 10th Earl of Scarbrough and Lucy Cecilia Dunn Gardner, on 23 July 1923.² He died on 13 December 1960 at age 87.²
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.² He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the North Riding, Yorkshire.²

     Walter Henry James, 2nd Baron Northbourne of Betteshanger was born on 25 March 1846.² He was the son of Walter Charles James, 1st Baron Northbourne of Betteshanger and Sarah Caroline Ellison.³ He married Edith Emeline Mary Lane, daughter of John Newton Lane and Hon. Agnes Bagot, on 25 August 1868.² He died on 27 January 1923 at age 76.²
     He was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England.² He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He gained the rank of Temporary 2nd Lieutenant in the 3rd Home Counties Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Gateshead between 1874 and 1893.² He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Northbourne of Betteshanger, co. Kent and of Jarrow Grange, co. Palatine of Durham [U.K., 1884] on 4 February 1893.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet James, of Langley Hall and Denford Court, co. Berks [G.B., 1791] on 4 February 1893.³ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kent.²
