Berks [G.B., 1791] in 1829.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Hull between 1837 and 1847.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Kent in 1855.1 He was created 1st Baron Northbourne of Betteshanger, co. Kent and of Jarrow Grange, co. Palatine of Durham [U.K.] on 5 November 1884.1

He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1902 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was member of the Central Control Board (Liquor Traffic) between 1917 and 1921.1 He was Assistant Parliamentary Counsel of the Treasury between 1917 and 1923.1 He was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.) in 1924.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1931.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Kilbracken, of Killegar, co. Leitrim [U.K., 1909] on 27 June 1932.1
