     She was a member of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine.⁴ She gained the title of Erzherzogin von Österreich (styled as HI&RH Archduchess of Austria.⁵) She was given the name of Marie Caroline Louise Josephe Johanna Antonie at birth.⁴

     Charles Stanley Dowding was born on 12 June 1887 at St. Marylebone, London, England^G.² He married Lilian Emma Lawler, daughter of John Lawler, on 2 May 1916 at St. Martins in the Fields, London, England^G.^1,2 He died in 1969.²
     He was educated between 1900 and 1902 at Dulwich College, Dulwich, Surrey, England^G.² He fought in the First World War.² He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Somerset Light Infantry.² He lived at Dulwich, Surrey, England^G.³

     Lilian Emma Lawler was the daughter of John Lawler.³ She married, firstly, Charles Stanley Dowding on 2 May 1916 at St. Martins in the Fields, London, England^G.^1,2 She married, secondly, Sir John Fox, son of Sir John Charles Fox and Mary Louisa Valentine, on 6 November 1942 at St. Peter’s Church, Vere Street, London, England^G.⁴ She died on 4 September 1959.²
     From 2 May 1916, her married name became Dowding.¹ From 6 November 1942, her married name became Fox.
