Henrietta de Coligny was born in 1617.3 A contract for the marriage of Henrietta de Coligny and Thomas Hamilton, 3rd Earl of Haddington was signed on 13 May 1643.1 She married, secondly, Gaspard de Champagne, Comte de la Suze after 1645.1 She and Gaspard de Champagne, Comte de la Suze were divorced on 9 August 1661.1 She died on 10 March 1673 at Paris, FranceG, without issue.1
From 13 May 1643, her married name became Hamilton. After her marriage, Henrietta de Coligny was styled as Countess of Haddington on 13 May 1643. From after 1645, her married name became de Champagne.1

Charles Hamilton, 5th Earl of Haddington was born circa 1650.1 He was the son of John Hamilton, 4th Earl of Haddington and Lady Christian Lindsay.1 He married Margaret Leslie, Countess of Rothes, daughter of John Leslie, 1st Duke of Rothes and Lady Anne Lindsay, on 8 October 1674.1 He died in May 1685.1
He held the office of Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 1664.3 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Haddington [S., 1627] on 31 August 1669.1 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Byres and Binning [S., 1627] on 31 August 1669.1 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Binning [S., 1613] on 31 August 1669.1

Margaret Leslie, Countess of Rothes was the daughter of John Leslie, 1st Duke of Rothes and Lady Anne Lindsay.3 She married Charles Hamilton, 5th Earl of Haddington, son of John Hamilton, 4th Earl of Haddington and Lady Christian Lindsay, on 8 October 1674.1 She died on 20 August 1700.1
After her marriage, Margaret Leslie, Countess of Rothes was styled as Countess of Haddington on 8 October 1674. From 8 October 1674, her married name became Hamilton. She succeeded as the 8th Countess of Rothes [S., 1458] on 26 July 1681.3 She succeeded as the 8th Lord Leslie [S., 1445] on 26 July 1681.3
