     John Walter was born in 1739.¹ He died in 1812.¹
     In 1785 he bought the Weekly Universal Register, which became The Times on 1 January 1788.¹

     Catherine Mary Walter was born on 2 December 1820.¹ She was the daughter of John Walter and Mary Smythe.¹ She died on 16 January 1844 at age 23, from a chill.¹ She was buried at St. Catherine’s Church, Bear Wood, Wokingham, Berkshire, England^G.¹

     Captain Sir Edward Walter was born in 1824.¹ He was the son of John Walter and Mary Smythe.¹ He married Mary Anne Althorpe, daughter of J. C. Althorpe.¹ He died on 28 February 1904.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 8th Hussars.¹ In 1859 he founded the Corps of Commissionaires.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1885.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1887.¹

     Kinbarra Sweene Smith was born in 1836 at Walsall, England^G.¹ She married Samuel Lipscombe Seckham.¹ She died on 16 May 1901.¹
     Her married name became Seckham.¹

     Oliver Burnett was born on 7 July 2004.¹ He is the son of Andrew John Hanson Burnett and Rachel Pardoe.¹

     Isabella Jane Daltrey was born on 15 April 2006.¹ She is the daughter of Stephen David Daltrey and Margaret Jane Burnett.¹

     Helen Frances Catherine Douglas was born on 27 December 1769.¹ She was the daughter of Erskine Douglas and Eleanor (?)^1,2 She married Rt. Rev. Daniel Sandford, son of Reverend Daniel Sandford and Sarah Chapone, on 11 October 1790.¹ She died on 11 January 1837 at age 67 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹
     From 11 October 1790, her married name became Sandford.¹

     Gilbert of the Haye was the son of Sir William de la Haye, 1st Lord Hay and Margaret Gray.² He married Alice Hay, daughter of Sir William Hay of Lochorwart and Yester and Alice de la Haye.² He died on 7 September 1436.²
     In 1424 he was hostage in England for King James I’s ransom.²

     Roger North was the son of Roger North.² He married Christian Warcup, daughter of Richard Warcup.¹ He died before 29 November 1509.¹
     He was a merchant at London, England^G.¹

     Christian Warcup is the daughter of Richard Warcup.¹ She married, secondly, Roger North, son of Roger North.² She married, firstly, Ralph Warren.²
     Her married name became Warren.² Her married name became North.
