Sir John Powlett Orde, 2nd Bt.1 
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 10 April 1821.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Orde, of Morpeth, co. Northumberland [G.B., 1790] on 19 February 1824.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1826 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1,2 In 1828 he inherited the esate of Kilmory from his first wife’s father.4 He gained the rank of Captain in the Argyll and Bute Militia.2
