(Liberal) for Cornwall, Launceston Division between 1906 and 1918.1 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1911.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1917.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Cornwall, Northern Division between 1918 and 1924.1 He was created 1st Baron Marks, of Woolwich, co. Kent [U.K.] on 16 July 1929.1 On his death, his title became extinct.1
