     Dorothy Bellingham was born circa 1580.² She was the daughter of Sir James Bellingham and Agnes Curwen.¹ She married Sir Ralph Assheton, 1st Bt., son of Ralph Assheton and Johanna Radclyffe, circa 19 August 1604.¹
     From circa 19 August 1604, her married name became Assheton.¹

     Sir James Bellingham married Agnes Curwen, daughter of Sir Henry Curwen and Mary Fairfax.² He died in 1641.
     He lived at Helsington, Westmorland, England^G.³ He lived at Levens, Cumberland, England^G.¹

     Agnes Curwen was born circa 1554 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.² She was the daughter of Sir Henry Curwen and Mary Fairfax.^1,2 She married Sir James Bellingham.³ She died after 1598.
     Her married name became Bellingham.³

     Sir Henry Curwen was born in May 1528 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.^2,3 He was the son of Sir Thomas Christopher Curwen and Agnes Strickland.² He married, secondly, Catherine Lambton.³ He married, firstly, Mary Fairfax, daughter of Sir Nicholas Fairfax and Jane Palmes, circa 1549 at Workington, Cumberland, England^G.² He married, thirdly, Jane Crosby at Workington, Cumberland, England^G.² He died in 1592 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.² His will was proven (by probate) on 31 January 1597 at Yorkshire, England^G.³
     He was appointed Knight on 22 August 1570.³

     Sir Henry Bellingham, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir James Bellingham and Agnes Curwen.¹ He married Dorothy Boynton, daughter of Sir Francis Boynton.² He died in October 1650.²
     He was created 1st Baronet Bellingham, of Helsington, co. Westmorland [England] on 30 May 1620.² He was appointed Knight on 31 May 1620 at Theobalds, Hertfordshire, England^G.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland from 1625 to 1626.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland from April 1640 to May 1640.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland from November 1640 to October 1645.² In July 1646 he was a compounder.² In February 1647 he was fined £3,228, as a Royalist.² In May 1649 he was fined a further £1,971.²

     Eleanor Shuttleworth was the daughter of Thomas Shuttleworth and Anne Lever.¹ She married Sir Ralph Assheton, 1st Bt., son of Ralph Assheton and Johanna Radclyffe, in April 1610.¹ She died in 1658, without issue.¹
     From April 1610, her married name became Assheton.¹

     Thomas Shuttleworth lived at Smethells, Lancashire, England^G.¹

     Anne Lever is the daughter of Richard Lever.¹
