Sir William Smijth, 7th Bt.1 
Sir William Smijth, 7th Bt. was born on 23 April 1746 at Shrewsbury, Shropshire, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Rev. Sir William Smyth, 6th Bt. and Abigail Wood.1 He married Anne Windham, daughter of John Windham-Bowyer and Mary Windham, on 22 March 1779 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 1 May 1823 at age 77.1 He was buried at Theydon Mount, Essex, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 6 June 1823.1
He was given the name of William Smyth at birth.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Smith, of Hill Hall, co. Essex [E., 1661] on 25 January 1777.1 Between March 1779 and April 1799 his name was legally changed to William Smijth.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the West Essex Militia.1 He held the office of Verderer of Waltham Forest in 1799.1 His last will was dated from 26 March 1816 to 4 May 1821.
