     William Christian was born before 1561 at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.² He was the son of William McCrystyn and unknown Samsbury.¹ He married Mabel Curwen, daughter of Sir Henry Curwen and Mary Fairfax, circa 1576 at Kirk Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.² He died in 1593 at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.^2,3
     He held the office of Deemster.²

     Mabel Curwen was born circa 1556 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Henry Curwen and Mary Fairfax.¹ She married, firstly, William Christian, son of William McCrystyn and unknown Samsbury, circa 1576 at Kirk Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.¹ She married, secondly, Sir William Fairfax in 1581.² She died on 29 November 1624 at Ronaldsway, Malew, Isle of Man^G.¹
     From circa 1576, her married name became Christian.¹ From 1581, her married name became Fairfax.²

     Jane Christian was born at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.² She was the daughter of William Christian and Mabel Curwen.¹ She married Deemster Thomas Samsbury.¹ She died in 1629 at Ronaldsway, Malew, Isle of Man^G, without issue.²
     Her married name became Samsbury.¹ After the deaths of Jane and her husband, the estate of Ronaldsway passed to her brother, Deemster Ewan Christian.²

     Mary Christian was born at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.² She was the daughter of William Christian and Mabel Curwen.¹ She married John Quayle, son of Nicholas Quayle.¹ She died at Ballaquayle, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.²
     Her married name became Quayle.¹

     William McCrystyn was born in 1527 at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.² He was the son of Ewan McCrystyn.¹ He married unknown Samsbury, daughter of unknown Samsbury, circa 1540 in a Lezayre, Isle of Man marriage.^2,1 He died in 1568 at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.^2,3
     He held the office of Deemster.² He held the office of Archdeacon between 1550 and 1568.²
     Family tradition has it that one of the daughters of Deemster William married an Abbot. This used to be quoted as a joke. The Abbot referred to was to have been an Abbot of Rushen, IoM. If this was really the case, Richard Glanville-Brown may have found the substantiation of it in a pedigree lately lent to him of the family Radcliffe of Knock-Aloe-Moar, who repeatedly intermarried with the Christians of Milntown. The pedigree states that Sir John Radcliffe, who was beheaded together with Sir William Stanley for rising in favour of Lambert Simnel 1497 — left two sons, the second of whom, Thomas Radcliffe, was appointed Abbot of Rushen, through the influence of the Stanleys in 1532. He was party to the disolution of the monastery in 1537, accepting a quid pro quo in a lease or a grant of the property Knock-Aloe-Moar, near Peel in Patrick. After this statement follows the addition: “Like many of those who went out of religion, he married”.

This time coincides with the time of William McChristen, who was entered in the Manorial Records for the Estate of Milntown in 1527, hence the tradition that the Abbot, Thomas Radcliffe “who went out of religion and married” Deemster William’s daughter may be true.²

     Ewan McCrystyn was born in 1501 at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.² He was the son of Deemster William McCrystyn and unknown Kelly.^1,2 He died in 1539 at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.^2,3
     He held the office of Member of the House of Keys (M.H.K.) in 1532.¹ On 31 July 1532 he was called to the Indenture between the Bishop, Clergey and Keys, where the two most important men of each sheading were called.²

     Deemster William McCrystyn was born at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.² He was the son of Deemster John McCrystyn and Joan Skillicorne.¹ He married unknown Kelly.² He died circa 1535 at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.^2,3,1
     He held the office of Deemster.²

     unknown Kelly married Deemster William McCrystyn, son of Deemster John McCrystyn and Joan Skillicorne.¹

     Calyborri Ine Kneale was born at Mallenlowne, Isle of Man.¹ She married Deemster John McCrystyn, son of Deemster John McCrystyn.¹
     Her married name became McCrystyn.¹
