Diane Marguerite and Franz Joseph were also married in a religious ceremony on 16 April 1955 at Krauchenweis, Stuttgart, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.
     She gained the title of Principessa di Parma. Her marriage to Franz Joseph Prinz von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen was annulled on 17 January 1980.

     Alexis Wilhelm Prinz von Hessen-Philippsthal-Barchfeld was born on 13 September 1828 at Burgsteinfurt, Germany^G.² He was the son of Karl Landgraf von Hessen-Philippsthal-Barchfeld and Sophie Prinzessin von Bentheim und Steinfurt.³ He married Marie Luise Anne Prinzessin von Preußen, daughter of Friedrich Karl Alexander Prinz von Preußen and Marie Luise Alexandrine Prinzessin von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach, on 26 May 1853 at Schloss Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany^G.² He and Marie Luise Anne Prinzessin von Preußen were divorced on 6 March 1861.² He was also reported to have been married on 24 June 1854 at Schloss Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany^G. He died on 16 August 1905 at age 76 at Herleshausen, Germany^G.²

     She gained the title of Prinzessin von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg.² She was given the name of Feodora Luise Sophie Adelaide Henrietta Amelia von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg at birth.
