Major Thomas Lionel Dugdale, 1st Baron Crathorne was born on 20 July 1897.2 He was the son of Captain James Lionel Dugdale and Maud Violet Woodroffe.3 He married Nancy Tennant, daughter of Sir Charles Clow Tennant of The Glen, 1st Bt. and Marguerite Agaranthe Miles, on 22 September 1936.2 He died on 26 March 1977 at age 79.2
