Donald Sterling Palmer Howard, 3rd Baron Strathcona and Mount Royal was born on 14 June 1891.2 He was the son of Robert Jared Bliss Howard and Margaret Charlotte Smith, Baroness Strathcona and Mount Royal.2 He married Hon. Diana Evelyn Loder, daughter of Gerald Walter Erskine Loder, 1st Baron Wakehurst and Lady Louise de Vere Beauclerk, on 25 October 1922.2 He died on 22 February 1959 at age 67.2
He was awarded the U.S. Bronze War.2 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1913 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Hussars.2 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre Belgian.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) John de Vere Loder, 2nd Baron Wakehurst was born on 5 February 1895.2 He was the son of Gerald Walter Erskine Loder, 1st Baron Wakehurst and Lady Louise de Vere Beauclerk.3 He married Margaret Tennant, daughter of Sir Charles Clow Tennant of The Glen, 1st Bt. and Marguerite Agaranthe Miles, on 3 June 1920.3 He died on 30 October 1970 at age 75.2
